THERAPY

An example of the various therapies performed in our practice.

Physiotherapy (Kinésithérapie)

Physiotherapy is a movement therapy based on physiology and pathology that uses special treatment techniques to help develop, maintain or restore physical functions. The therapy is supported, for example, by cold/heat applications, (kinesio) taping, treatments with ultrasound or shock wave therapy and is supplemented by other measures.

Sports Physiotherapy

In addition to traditional physiotherapy, sports physiotherapy also integrates work from sports science and sports medicine. The focus is therefore not only on recovery and injury prevention, but also on training optimisation, performance enhancement and therefore faster regeneration.

Manual Therapy (MT)

Manual therapy is a treatment method in which functional disorders of the musculoskeletal system are tested and corrected. Both passive techniques (to mobilise/manipulate blocked joints or joints with restricted movement) and active exercises to stabilise the joints are used.

Dry Needling

Dry needling is an acupuncture technique for treating muscular trigger points using sterile disposable acupuncture needles without medication (hence “dry” needling). A thin needle is inserted precisely into the trigger point that is responsible for the current symptoms.

Manual lymphatic drainage (MLD)

Manual lymphatic drainage is used to activate lymph drainage or to drain tissue fluid and can be used after operations, injuries or diseases of the lymphatic system, for example.

Craniomandibular dysfunctions (CMD)

CMD generally describes functional disorders of the temporomandibular joint, such as pain in the masticatory muscles, problems opening the mouth, “clicking” or friction and pain in the temporomandibular joint. These problems can be treated using precise manual techniques.

Treatments according to the Fascia Distortion Model (FDM)

The FDM is a method of recognising and treating complaints that are described by the patient’s body language. The therapy is mainly carried out manually on the regions indicated by the patient and is suitable for both acute and chronic complaints in the musculoskeletal system.

Manual treatment concept for children (0–4 years)

An examination of infants and children (up to the age of 4) and their treatment with manual therapy techniques for disorders of early childhood development.
Note: This examination does not replace the newborn screening programme and treatment should be discussed with a paediatrician in advance.
